In the present study, the deposition of airborne sulfur dioxide and water particles in a channel flow with two consecutive circular obstacles was numerically investigated using the lattice Boltzmann method. The main objective was to examine the variation in the number of deposited particles under one- and two-obstacle conditions for two different particle types at various Reynolds numbers. The numerical simulation was performed using the Lattice Boltzmann D2Q9 model implemented in C++. The released particles in the channel were water and SO₂ with diameters of 100 nm, 1 μm, and 10 μm. Reynolds numbers ranged from 50 to 800. The results showed that particle type, particle size, Reynolds number, and the number of obstacles significantly influenced the deposition process. For Reynolds numbers higher than 200, the number of deposited particles on the obstacles was nearly the same. At Reynolds number 50, due to the heavier nature of SO₂ particles, only 3 particles were deposited on the obstacles, which was much fewer than the 17 deposited water particles under the same condition. This number remained unchanged for both one- and two-obstacle cases. At Reynolds number 200, the number of deposited particles on the obstacles in the two-obstacle case was almost twice that of the one-obstacle case.
